Dashwave started with a somewhat straightforward goal in the summer of '22: an Android cloud tool connected to local IDE, for faster builds and shareable cloud emulations with a mission to make Android development faster, collaborative, iterable and enhance developer efficiency by at least 10X.Although the official inception is marked at this point, the technology behind this started to take shape long back in '21 when 3 college buddies started to hack around to build a distributed cached, scalable cloud build system for Android AOSP. One of them went on to co-found Dashwave a year later when the other co-founder suggested that this technology could solve some problems in software development with Android as a platform itself.And now, in 2024, after multiple iterations and fine-tuning the product features, we now have a robust Android dev platform running fast builds with remote caching, thus enabling spinning up instant dev/debug/test environments for Android development teams.At Dashwave, we believe that designing products to address productivity bottlenecks for Android developers unlocks rapid and collaborative development.
